Scouting for Food
As Scouts, we know how fortunate we are to have a warm meal every night - whether around the campfire or at the kitchen table. And we know that not everyone is so lucky. That’s the genesis of Scouting for Food, the annual food-collection drive run by Middle Tennessee Council on first week of February each year. Scouting for Food takes place on two consecutive weekends. On the first weekend, Scouts distribute bags and/or door hangers to let their neighbors know about the drive. On the second, Scouts revisit those houses to pick up bags full of canned food, cereal, pasta, peanut butter, juice and other nonperishable items.
On February 7 you can either print your own door hangers and distribute them in your neighborhood or we will have a group meet at the Lower School and go into the surrounding neighborhoods to distribute door hangers.
On February 14 we will go back into the neighborhoods and pickup the food and bring it to the lower school before 11am. We will then drop the food off at Second Harvest Food Bank.

Scout Sunday
Scout Sunday is an annual celebration that honors the connection between Scouting and faith. Observed by Scouting America units and their affiliated religious organizations, it typically falls on the Sunday preceding February 8, the anniversary of Scouting in the U.S. On this day, Scouts participate in worship services, assist with church activities, and reaffirm their commitment to the 12th point of the Scout Law: "A Scout is Reverent." The event highlights the role of faith in fostering character development, leadership, and service among Scouts.
